Moments In India

This selection of images from across India aims to do one thing: display, as accurately as possible, their respective scenes, before any subject has become cognitively aware of the camera. I love to push the shutter between the moment of gaze and attention. This moment is never more than a fraction of a second, and to capture it is a skill I’ve been honing for years. The “decisive moment” that never comes again. This is what Henri Cartier-Bresson called it, though I always think of it as the “in-between moment”.
